Series: Looney Tunes
Running time (of viewed version): 7:23
Commercial DVD Availability: LTGCv6d2

Synopsis: Daffy parachutes into Germany, apparently to briefly annoy Hitler.

Comments: Good title card. Stiff breeze fluttering the flag. Anthropomorphic Nazi (it was a human in the title card); telegram names him Uberkomt Von Vultur. Three monkey axis on the stationery (musolini crossed off). Referred to as Apes of Wrath. "It's your ka-rear", as in, "it's your ass". Black feet on commander. Schultz has brown feet (and a green beak (and sometimes face). Silhouette shot. Some sort of low class British song form Daffy. Hand puppet can can. Was WWII fought over who got to use the phone? The scrolling shot coming out of the cannon is impressive looking; technically I suppose it's very well thought out to mimic a (tilt?) pan moving on the X and Y axis. Realistic-ish Hitler. I am uncertain if some of the commander's opening speech (there is some English interspersed with not English) is gibberish or German. Has a stripper poster in a background.

Synopsis: In time of need, two vultures turn on each other.

Comments: Silhouette title card. Two buzzard cartoons in a row. Shortnin' Bread plays over title. Painted desert painted by local 852; an animation related union for MGM? Jimmy Durante vocal caricature. Don't know if vulture Joe is a vocal caricature. Steak photo. Self referential drooling intertitle. On screen food label. Big bulbous nose on rabbit. Lots of held up signs this cartoon. Mutual tit eyes. Weird reverse curves on vulture skulls. Knifeplay. Rattlesnake pun. Another appearance of meatless Tuesday. Self referential film interruption at the end as well.

117 Yokel Duck Makes Good

Title: Yokel Duck Makes Good
Studio: Terry
Date: 11/26/43
Credits:
Story by
John Foster
Directed by
Eddie Donnelly
Music by
Philip A. Scheib
Series:
Running time (of viewed version): 6:26
Commercial DVD Availability: -

Synopsis: Cornball duck gets the business form those nature slicker waterfowl, until he proves himself useful.

Comments: The ducklings appear to be swimming in place , then they start moving with the background, but there is a jump. Almost inconceivable that this was a 1943 cartoon. The cartoony white duck is more of '43. Still not exactly current tho. He applies talc like my grandfather did. Bird fist fight. I think he's going to have sex with that swan. In the continuous opening pan (with the slight jump) we go from painted ducks to cel ducks at different ends.
